My name is Shelley, I’m a Potteries born freelance illustrator based in Liverpool, UK.
I'm currently studying for a Masters in Children's Book Illustration at the University of Central Lancashire, as well as working on freelance projects.
I love travelling, experiencing new things and exploring new places.
I’m inspired by the everyday, nature, architecture, pattern, ceramic design and folk art.
I use pencil, watercolour, gouache, acrylic and sometimes collage materials in my work. My style is predominantly hand drawn and I like creating layers to my work. I combine bold colour and mark making with intricate drawing detail and pattern.
I graduated from John Moores University in 2009 with a B.A. in Graphic Arts and Illustration. I'm also a qualified Early Years Professional and former Enterprise Fellowship candidate for my business start up.
